One of the zaniest and most loved of all Donizetti’s operas, this three-act comic opera follows the fortunes of young Ernesto, recently disinherited by his wealthy, cranky uncle, Don Pasquale, for refusing an arranged marriage in favour of the penniless widow Norina.
